Yes, sir. First full year. What are the biggest things you're learning?
So the last two years I ended up having, oddly enough, injuries to my feet. I was on the entry list for the whole season actually last year, but I ended up having to have surgery on my foot. So yeah, this is first Supercross season, round five today. So this is pretty incredible. Super glad to be here for sure.
So I think the biggest thing is just honestly the tracks. The tracks are super difficult, especially when you have this many guys on the track, it's certainly not like the practice track. The practice track doesn't really break down a whole lot, you know? And so at these races, there's been a big learning curve. The tracks, the whoops, the obstacles are difficult not just in the build, but the condition. I've made two mains and just being in the main events and being at these races has definitely elevated me when I'm back at home during the week, just because the conditions of the track are super difficult - the ruts, the bumps. So it's super technical and obviously, getting to ride press today with some good guys is a really big help for the weekend, especially it being a triple crown. So you mentioned riding back at home. You're from Texas originally, right? Are you still based out of Texas?
Yeah, I'm still in Texas. I've been in Texas my whole life - I'm north of Dallas. We've got a really good group in Texas between me, John Short, Grant Harlan, Mitchell Oldenburg, Henry Miller - we've got a solid group that rides together during the week every week and sticks together and, you know, pushes each other. And so yeah, it's competitive, but it's also, it's super helpful having good guys. Yeah, we've got a pretty solid group this year from Texas and we're all, we're all healthy and so yeah, it's been, it's really good.Lots of rain there the past couple weeks?
It's been off and on, but nothing that's affected me too much. We've still been hitting the practice track. So you're basically are able to ride all these season along there?
Yes! It's a hot summer, but yeah, we're all season in Texas.Talk a little bit about your deal at the TiLube team.
Yeah, shout out to the TiLube Honda team. Ryan Alumbaugh from Rangeline, re, the Renen gear. For me to have this opportunity this year has truly been a blessing, and something for me that I'll never take for granted. And to be here with these guys, I'm very, very proud. For sure.Does the team race motocross?
So, I think we've got something in the works, I believe. But as of right now, we're focused on Supercross season, getting through healthy.
