Simple right? He was down 21 points a few rounds ago and looking pretty defeated… now momentum has completely shifted. We were down podium-side during the celebrations, and his stoic look of confidence walking over to fans with a champagne bottle speaks volumes… this guy is CONFIDENT!
We have Webb and Jett Lawrence tied in championship points with only 4 rounds left… wow! Also, Sexton is only 15 points back as well. Right now, any of these 3 could win it. Sexton would require some luck (like he had last year) or go on a tear… mathematically still very possible for him; he also has been looking a lot faster recently! Between Jett and Webb, in my opinion Jett is still the favorite; no one can straight-up beat him… he needs a bad start or a crash. Webb is Webb though, and his veteran savviness could play a big role in these final 4 weeks. Exciting series to say the least!
Does Deegan’s win mark a shift in momentum? It kinda feels like… Vialle or McAdoo just didn’t have the pace to match him in Foxborough. With only 3 rounds left in the East, Deegan needs to continue winning / gaining points every weekend, but there are a lot of points up for grabs in the 250 E/W showdowns. McAdoo has been super consistent this year since his first turn crash in Detroit to start the series, but he has never been in a title-hunt before so it’ll be interesting to see how he handles the pressure. As for Vialle, don’t count this guy out! His back-to-back wins in Daytona and Birmingham were very impressive, and it seems like he has the whoops figured out now. It’s anyones title really.
Sorry… but it was. It was super difficult to pass on and just didn’t provide for riders to move through the field. Consequently, we saw guys like Jett and Tomac struggle to pass and race forward. It also made it easier for Webb to hold off the charging duo of Roczen and Sexton behind him. Ultimately, the track allowed for a swing of 8 points in the title chase, so maybe that makes it exciting?
It’s great having a supercross in New England. Clam chowder, fresh lobster, oysters, and amazing New England IPAs. Gillette Stadium is cool but kinda in the middle of nowhere… although the access to Boston and New England coast (i.e. Cape Cod) makes up for it. If you’ve never been, Supercross is a perfect opportunity to visit!
