1 | 38 | Haiden Deegan | Holeshot, fastest lap, and comfortable lead.. too easy for Deegan. Exactly what he needed after a so-so start to the season. |
2 | 23 | Julien Beaumer | The only other rider to get into a 59 second lap. Beaumer continues to be fast, just simply didn't have quite enough speed to match Deegan tonight. |
3 | 100 | Cole Davies | Davies had to make some passes to get up into 4th, which is when he set his fastest lap of the night (3rd fastest rider). He was too far back at that point to catch the leaders, and then dropped the pace when it started raining. He's happy that Smith crashed though to give him his first podium! |
4 | 19 | Jordon Smith | Smith went for it on that last lap: class Jordon! A guaranteed 3rd became a 4th, but he only lost 1 position with the crash; not too bad. He was fast once is started raining and kept blitzing the whoops which made up a lot of time on Beaumer. |
5 | 37 | Coty Schock | Schock got passed by Smith and Davies and then rode around by himself. He seems to be a solid top 5 guy right now, and must be pumped on the heat race win! |
6 | 30 | Jo Shimoda | Shimoda had a mid-pack start, was riding in 8th for a while, but then settled into a decent pace and passed rookies Ross and Adams on the same lap. Good points salvaged. |
7 | 93 | Michael Mosiman | Mosiman crashed on the first lap and was 20th... hard charge and some fast laps got him up to 7th; impressive ride. |
8 | 98 | Drew Adams | Debut pro Supercross for Adams! He was strong in the first half, but lost the pace in the second half; either tired or struggling with the rain. He got passed by Mosiman on the last lap which was disappointing. Overall, a decent debut for him; second-best rookie of the night. |
9 | 52 | Anthony Bourdon | Bad start, but he battled through the pack to get a top 10! The good season continues... |
10 | 63 | Hunter Yoder | Started mid-pack and stayed there. He got passed by Bourdon which I imagine he will be disappointed about, but he was the next best non-factory guy. |
11 | 65 | Lux Turner | Turner battled back and for with Yoder for quite a bit, but lost the pace once it started raining. He turned things around though and got a last lap pass on Ross. |
12 | 302 | Parker Ross | Ross was in the top 5 to start and putting down some fast laps! For a moment it looked like he belonged up there, but dropped off the pace and then crash. Still... for a rookie it was a great showing and invaluable experience to run near the front. |
13 | 54 | Jett Reynolds | Reynolds finally started in the top 10 but couldn't match the pace of Bourdon and Yoder. He then crashed near the end which gave up two spots. |
14 | 91 | Tj Albright | Consistent race (and start of the year) for Albright. He got shuffled back a few spots in the opening laps, but then stayed in 14th for the rest of the race. |
15 | 115 | Gavin Towers | Towers started 15th and finished there. He dropped back to 17th at one point, but made a few passes towards the end. I imagine he's better than this? Time will tell... |
16 | 964 | Dominique Thury | Thury started in the top 10 and then dropped back. Overally, he has to be happy with making the main; first main event of the year for him. |
17 | 166 | Enzo Lopes | Lopes crashed on the first lap and took a while to get going... he was ~20 seconds back from everyone else. He put in some good laps at first to catch-up, but then slowed down a lot once it started raining. Would have expected him to climb up further, but it's his first race back and that track was slick... excited to see what he can do with a better start. |
18 | 101 | Dylan Walsh | Started 19th and kinda stayed around there. Lap times weren't good even in dry conditions. He's still looking to regain his 2023 form... he was around the top 10 beating a lot of these same guys. |
19 | 67 | Joshua Varize | Varize didn't have the pace tonight. He started mid-pack and then dropped wayyyyy back. I don't think he was comfortable in the slick conditions either. |
20 | 476 | Collin Jurin | Making the main is a huge feat for Jurin; congrats! Cool to see some success for the weekend warrior. |
21 | 800 | Preston Masciangelo | Masciangelo's first main event ever! It's his rookie season and he got it done in only his 3rd race. Cool to see these riders moving up from the SX Futures class. |
22 | 85 | Max Sanford | Sanford got a bad start and then crashed. First main event of the year for him though after quite a few last year. |
1 | 1 | Jett Lawrence | Impressive ride from Jett. Good start, fastest lap of the night, and stayed consistent. Considering the good start, a bit surprised at how long it took him to move into the lead but I think that's a sign of maturity and patience. |
2 | 94 | Ken Roczen | Roczen essentially matched Jett's fastest lap of the race on the same lap that Jett did it. He kinda got stuck behind Anderson for a few laps, which gave Jett a few second buffer; would have been interesting to see if Kenny could have matched the pace if he got around Anderson at the same time. |
3 | 21 | Jason Anderson | Anderson set his fastest lap of the night the lap before he was passed by Jett (pretty late in the race). He was handling the pressure well, but lost the pace once Jett got around. Good job to hang on for a podium though! |
4 | 4 | Chase Sexton | Chase was right there with the top 3 but lost the tow around halfway mark. Apparently he was feeling a bit sick, which might explain it. However, he was able to maintain solid consistent lap times towards the end to reel in Anderson, but just couldn't make the pass. |
5 | 96 | Hunter Lawrence | Hunter found one fast lap but couldn't consistenly get under 1:01 in order to stay with the top 4 in the first half. He also got stuck behind Justin Cooper for a while which didn't help. Considering the 2nd place start, getting passed by the 4 riders who finished in front of him isn't ideal. But a solid top 5 nonetheless. |
6 | 32 | Justin Cooper | Finally Cooper gets the holeshot he needed, and he made it work for the first 5 minutes. However, he couldn't match the pace of the guys behind him, and he was also losing a lot of time in the whoops by jumping them instead of skimming. A better performance than the last couple of weekends, but he needs more pace in order to stay out front; a little disappointing considering speed is not normally an issue. |
7 | 3 | Eli Tomac | 7th will be disappointing considering how fast he was all day. Ultimately, it just comes down to an awful start; he was ~20th in the first turn. The charge up to 7th was great: he matched the pace of the top guys and even had the best ideal lap time (if you combine best segment times). This is basically the same as his A1 ride where he charged to 5th. He passed Barica, Webb, and Stewart like they were standing still. |
8 | 2 | Cooper Webb | Bad start for Webb and he wasn't able to make up much ground. He was behind Stewart for a large part of the race and finally made the pass stick, but then lost a spot to Tomac which he will be frustrated about. Ultimately, just didn't have the pace. |
9 | 27 | Malcolm Stewart | Bad start for Stewart and he wasn't able to make up much ground. He was ahead of Webb for a lot of the race, and will be disappointed that he got passed. Lap times were just off. |
10 | 51 | Justin Barcia | Barcia just kinda rode around by himself out there. Lap times weren't impressive. |
11 | 17 | Joey Savatgy | Savatgy had to pass some guys to get up to 11th, so there's that. After a top 10 last week I imagine he will be disappointed, but also tough to see him consistently beating anyone in front of him. |
12 | 57 | Benny Bloss | Bloss came from 20th and passed a bunch of guys to get his best finish of the season. Good ride for him. |
13 | 49 | Mitchell Oldenburg | Oldenburg got off to a slow-ish start in the first few laps and lost a position to his teammate Bloss, but found some pace in the second half to get his best finish of the season. |
14 | 45 | Colt Nichols | We expect more from Nichols! Just doesn't have the speed currently. |
15 | 46 | Justin Hill | Hill should have finished one spot better but crashed. Before that, he got passed by Bloss and Oldenburg so not a good night for him. The magic from A1 has disappeared. |
16 | 14 | Dylan Ferrandis | Tough start to the year for Ferrandis. He's shown some speed and clearly deserves better finishes. He got tangled up with Plessinger, worked his way up to 13th from last (which was impressive) and then crashed again... twice. |
17 | 12 | Shane McElrath | McElrath struggled... was up in 12th about halfway through but got dropped. He should be faster than this. |
18 | 77 | Jerry Robin | Robin somehow came around the first lap inside the top 10, but didn't have the pace to stick up there. For him, just making the main is a success. |
19 | 78 | Cade Clason | Clason started 21st and finished 19th. Making the main is good but he got lapped twice and had the slowest best lap time. |
20 | 146 | Kevin Moranz | Moranz started last and improved one spot by passing Noren who crashed. Kudos for making it into the main. |
21 | 33 | Freddie Noren | Was running in the top 15... faded back to 19th... and then crashed which put him in dead last (out of the remaining riders). He got his fastest lap after that and was catching Moranz but then crashed again. |
22 | 7 | Aaron Plessinger | Started in the top 10 and then tangled with Ferrandis. His bike presumably was too mangled to finish the race? Two DNFs in a row now. |
