Round 4 in Glendale! Who were the Most Impressive riders from each class? Spoiler Alert: the same riders from SD! And first repeat Most Impressive in both classes.

450 Class: Eli Tomac

Eli continues to amaze / impress this year. Could this be the best Tomac ever? Race 1 was a very good and impressive charge from basically dead last to 5th. Race 2? Somehow even better with an insanely impressive charge from dead last to 4th! Not only that… he passed everyone like they were standing still and caught the top 4 within about 7 minutes; insane. He topped off the night with a win in Race 3… unfortunately no podium but without a doubt the best rider in Glendale. Words won’t describe it… I was watching Tomac with utter shock; he’s soooo good right now. By far surpassing expectations and proving to everyone he’s the guy to beat. Sure, Sexton won… but Tomac is the Beast right now.

According to the Star Yamaha PR, this is what Eli said about the race:

““We had a very strong finish. It’s just unfortunate that I had two bad starts on the day. I made a ton of passes and had some really good riding once again; I just have to fix these starts. That’s all it comes down to. Otherwise, I’m super comfortable. I’ve been making a lot of great passes, and my speed is outstanding. So I’m just moving forward to next weekend and going to get these starts dialed in.””

250 Class: Cole Davies

Wow… the kid is for real! He’s getting better every round: faster, smoother, more confident, and more consistent. Winning the first two races of the night was unexpected, but he proved to everyone he can compete with the best. In the first race, he held off Jordon Smith. In the second race, he pulled away from Haiden Deegan. We knew he was good at A1… but this is shocking… he could be one of the best riders in the class right now.

Aside from just the racing in Glendale, Davies could be the most impressive rookie we’ve seen in a long time. He’s 17 compared to Jett’s debut season at 16, but Davies is smoother and more consistent… we’ve yet to see him crash (aside from an unavoidable first lap incidents). Only time will tell, but Davies has everything going for him right now to be the next best guy.
