Round 7 in Arlington! Another Triple Crown! Who were the Most Impressive riders from each class?

450 Class: Justin Hill

This is the second time this year Hill is awarded this honor; He was Most Impressive in A1 to start the year, but wow, he outdid himself this time! Hill had the fastest qualifying time by 0.5 seconds, and rode great in all 3 races. The first two races is where he shined though: back-to-back 4th place finishes and even faster than Sexton in Race 1. A top 5 overall in this field is super impressive… his last top 5 was in 2023, but that was in a severely depleted field. Kudos to Hill for continuing to step up his game.

So far this year, Hill is by far the Most Impressive satellite team / privateer rider. He sits 8th in points, almost 20 ahead of Plessinger, and well ahead of Savatgy, Ferrandis, McElrath, etc. Although we don’t see him consistently putting these performances down, he remains pretty consistent points-wise, and has yet to have a really bad race. He’s only 7 points back from Justin Barcia… Impressive indeed.

250 Class: Coty Schock

First career-podium for Coty Schock! In the post-race press conference, Racer X’s Mitch Kendra pointed out that back in 2020 Schock was celebrating simply for making a main event. That puts things into perspective: he has come a super long way since then. It’s great to see him steadily improving year-after-year, and it’s rightly rewarded with a podium in Arlington.

Often times with career-best finishes like this we see riders getting a bit “lucky”. Not the case for Schock; he truly was the second best guy tonight (arguably 3rd if you count Jordon Smith). He started up front in all 3 races, and fairly edged-out Mosiman for 2nd Overall. I’ve been impressed with Schock all season… he’s consistent, fast, jumping all the tough rhythms, and starting near the front. ClubMX did well by locking him into a 3 year deal, because I’m sure other teams are looking at him now wishing he was on their roster.

Here’s what he had to say about the night:

“We’re broadcast as a big team, but we do a lot with a little. It’s a little shop based out of South Carolina. We put in the work and it’s cool to finally put it up on the box for these guys. Thanks to the whole team… I’m not going to say I was a nobody growing up, but I wasn’t that guy and I am now. It’s surreal and yeah, we did it.”

250 Class Honorable Mention: Michael Mosiman

It’s been a long time (2022 / 3 years) since he last got on that podium. It’s impressive to see him continuing to improve each weekend, and he is now almost now back to his 2022 race-winning self. He almost won Race 2, has been getting great starts, and showing speed in qualifying; lots to continue building off of. He’s definitely confident too… really impressive comeback for him!
