After a weekend off we’re back! Who were the Most Impressive riders from each class?

450 Class: Chase Sexton

Sexton finally gets another win… it had been since round 4 back in Glendale (back when both Jett Lawrence and Eli Tomac were in the series). But that’s not why he is awarded with Most Impressive… it’s rather the style in which he won: he was dominant but yet smooth and confident in Birmingham, a remarkable turnaround from when we last saw him in Indy.

Sexton left Indy in a “bad” place… not even close to Webb in speed and 15 points down. Impressively, he regrouped, found his speed again, and was smooth and calculated to grab the win in Birmingham. This weekend it was Webb having problems, not Sexton. Now, Sexton finds himself only 8 points back, definitely in this title hunt.

Here’s what he had to say about his day:

“Triple Crowns are tough because even if you win the first two Races, just like what happened to RJ [Hampshire in the 250SX Class], something can go wrong in the first turn. Thank God my starts were good tonight; I got the holeshot. I rode pretty solid. I wasn’t doing the [triple jump] in the last Race, just being a little conservative. It was a good race, Coop rode good, and I’m stoked to get that monkey off my back and get another win and get this season going in the right direction finally… This is my favorite part of the season, these last seven or eight rounds. It seems like it's where I really shine… Coop is riding really good, he’s a fighter, so it should be a good fight to the end.”

250 Class: Hardy Munoz

Hardy Munoz! Entering the season, I definitely did not expect to be awarding Munoz with Most Impressive. Sure, he has shown speed in the past, but that has always been marred by crashes. He has had good finishes prior to this year: he placed 10th in Tampa 250E in 2023 for instance. However, he has never shown consistency before. This year? Munoz appears to be a totally new rider. He has improved every round, and finds himself in Birmingham with a 9th place overall: a career best.

Munoz started well and looked to belong in the top 10 all night in Birmingham. He was holding off Hymas and Park for most of Race 3… he had the speed to race with those guys. He even straight up beat Forkner in 2 out of the 3 races. What makes it even more impressive is that Munoz is doing this all as a legitimate privateer. We talked with him back in Detroit and he not supported by any team whatsoever; it’s just him and his family getting to the races and helping him out. He’s a privateer success story!

250 Class Honorable Mention: Carson Mumford

This is the fastest version of Mumford we’ve ever seen. He’s keeping up with the top guys and belongs near the front. He passed Hymas in Race 1, almost got a 3rd in Race 2, etc. Unfortunately he crashed out of Race 3, but he should be able to leave Birmingham with plenty of positives.
